This small, exclusive and intimate camp is widely regarded as one of the premier camps in the Masai Mara. In the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Il Moran recreates the atmosphere of the old hunting camps.

Intimate and luxurious, hidden in the shadow of indigenous trees, the camp is very high end for those who want that little bit extra.

Setting

On the banks of the Mara River, deep in the forest hidden amongst ancient trees. The camp has excellent views of the Mara River and game viewing on your doorstep. The location is also great for watching the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Accommodation & Facilities

All 10 of Il Moran’s vast tents have super king sized beds, all carved from fallen, ancient olive trees. The en-suite bathrooms have Victorian roll top style baths, flushing toilets and twin basins. Each room also has a large, extended veranda for the perfect relaxing evening.

Laundry is done daily at no extra cost and the Curio shop is open every day for those wanting souvenirs.

Dining

During the day, meals are served outdoors under the trees and bush breakfasts, lunches and dinners can be organised at a supplementary cost. The dining tent, deep in the bush, has stunning views of the Mara River and dinners can be enjoyed by candlelight. There is also the option of having dinner bought up to enjoy in privacy on your veranda and room service on request.

Activities

The 4 wheel drive vehicles used for game drives are custom built to maximise your experience. Walking safaris, hot air balloon safaris, Masai cultural visits and Lake Victoria day trips are also available. For those wanting to relax, there are spa treatments in camp and great bird watching opportunities.

Responsible Tourism

Il Moran Camp was previously known as Paradise Camp and consisted of 20 guest tents. In an effort to preserve the surroundings and contribute to reducing the impact of tourists in the environment the owner decided to make the camp smaller by 50%.
